In pretty Piazza della Passera, very close to Palazzo Pitti, Piazza del Carmine and S. Spirito Church, there’s a little restaurant called “Il Magazzino”, whose name comes from the old place where the restaurant itself arises, the store of the pig-butcher of the Porcellino. A cosy and delightful place with twelve outdoor seats, where you can find wooden tables and stools, and  thirty-six indoor seats. It’s open both lunch and dinner and reservation is suggested.
Reorganized and renovated in 2004 by Luca Cai, the restaurant has kept is original structure, from kitchen to main room, in which you can taste all kind of trippa and lampredotto specialities: “Trippaio” starter, ravioli with lampredotto, lampredotto meatballs, tongue carpaccio, grilled poppa, fried trippa and “Trippaio” cartoccio. Aside these delicacies, there’s a large courses selection dedicate to vegetarians, as asparagus flan, cheese fondue, tomino with grilled vegetables, backed aubergines with mozzarella and tomato (parmigiana), black cabbage pestsauce and maltagliati vith vegetables. And as dessert you can delight in delicious cakes, as chestnut pudding from Mugello in winter and orange creme caramel in summer. Along with these courses, all produced  with fresh products and season vegetables, the restaurant offers a selection of one hundred-seventy wines, mostly form Tuscany: the wine is offered not only in the bottle, but also in glasses and is possible tasting a delicious house wine, whose label has been created purposely for the restaurant. At “Il Magazzino” are also organized some special nights with a particular theme (the program can be consulted on facebook, at the page dedicated to the restaurant), in which Luca Cai proposes some combining courses food-wine, whose most chosen is the one in which you can experience lampredotto sushi.
